Does Laser Eye Surgery Hurt?

LaserCare Eye Center | Dallas LASIK and Cataract Surgeons

Does LASIK or SMILE Surgery Hurt?

Dr. Sid Gichery, the LASIKboss, discusses the question, does LASIK hurt? We’re here to answer your questions about LASIK and cataract surgery and I’m here with Marielle today.
What’s our question today?
Thank you so much, so our question for the day is, does LASIK hurt?
That’s a commonly asked question, LASIK doesn’t hurt. When we do the surgery, we’ll actually put an eye drop on your eye to anesthetize the eye and generally, you will not feel pain. You may feel pressure, kind of like somebody touching your eye, but generally no pain.  The only time that you may have pain is if you try to squeeze against the little lid speculum we put to hold your eyelids apart. That little lid speculum’s made out of metal so you don’t want to squeeze against it that can be uncomfortable.
